I think if you can code, know the C language or even just know how to use GDB or any other debugging tool, you are outfitted good for the task.

Its fine. Windows tries to crash it but if I just ignore the warning window I can still use L3DT normally. It doesnt quite save right saves in wrong folder with wrong name but everything else is fine. Im not really having a problem with the crashes.
